Beasts of Maravilla Island (Nintendo Switch) Review By Nayu Set on a magical island only her grandfather has known, Marina must travel and document magical animals and their behaviour in Beasts of Maravilla Island from Banana Bird Studios and Whitethorn Digital. walking around feels clunky and the game will just chug along, and mechanics wise its super annoying that the camera isn’t aiming in the direction youre cing when you go to take a photo… in a game where the thrill is discovery and capturing that discovery. the phot taking isn’t really necessary outside of solving puzzles to move on, and just overall theres a lack of polish when it comes to mechanics, from traversal to actually taking the photos. the biggest issues I have with this game are for one its super short, taking me less than an hr and ahalf to get through. in a way this is what I would love for a pokemon snap sequel in the future… gtting a true sense of a lived in world, seeing how the creatures interact with one another… and youll also be taking picture of plants to progress and solving super simple puzzles.
